How to Choose an AI Solutions Provider in Lebanon

By Abbas Hachem · · 7 min read

Choose an AI provider by testing them, not by reading their promises. Ask for a demo on your own questions, ask who owns the result, how it handles Arabic, French and English, what it does when it does not know, and what the full costs are. Be wary of guaranteed results, vague scopes and lock-in. Start with one small project, not a large package.

What should you decide before you contact anyone?

Know the problem before you shop for the solution. Write down the one task or question that costs your team the most time, how often it happens, and what a good result would look like: faster replies, fewer missed enquiries, or hours saved each week.

A provider who starts by asking about your problem is a better sign than one who starts by describing their technology.

What types of AI provider are there in Lebanon?

Most options fall into four groups, each with trade-offs:

  • Off-the-shelf tools

Ready-made chatbot or automation products with a monthly fee. Quick and cheap to start, but limited customization, and they may not handle Arabic, French and Arabizi well or fit your workflow.

  • Independent developers and small studios

Direct contact with the person doing the work and flexible pricing. Check their references and what happens if they become unavailable.

  • Agencies and software houses

Bigger teams and wider capabilities, suited to larger projects. Often a higher price and more layers between you and the people building it.

  • International vendors

Strong products, but support, language fit and local payment or billing arrangements may be harder.

What questions should you ask a provider?

  • Can you show me a demo using my own questions?

The best test. A real assistant should handle your actual customer questions, not a scripted demo.

  • How does it handle Arabic, French, English and Arabizi?

Ask them to test mixed-language and Arabic-in-Latin-letters messages.

  • Where does it get its answers?

It should answer from your own information, not guess from general knowledge.

  • What does it do when it does not know?

It should say so and hand over to a person. Ask how that hand-over works.

  • Who owns the code, accounts and data?

You should. Ask in writing, and ask whether you can move the system elsewhere.

  • What are all the costs?

Ask about setup, monthly fees, and third-party costs such as messaging fees, AI model usage and hosting.

  • Can I see a similar project?

Ask for a comparable example or a reference you can contact.

  • Who will I talk to, and how fast do they reply?

    Support matters most after launch.

  • How do you protect customer data?

Especially for clinics, finance and anything personal.

How does pricing usually work?

Pricing models include a monthly subscription for ready-made tools, a fixed price for a defined project or short sprint, and a project price scoped to your needs for larger custom work. There is no single right model. What matters is that you know what is included, what is not, and what the ongoing costs are.

Be careful when a price is quoted before anyone has understood your business, and compare like with like: a cheap quote that leaves out testing, languages or support is not really cheaper.

What are the red flags?

  • Guaranteed results

No honest provider can guarantee sales, rankings or exact savings.

  • No demo or references

If they cannot show real work, be cautious.

  • A vague scope

"We will build you an AI" is not a plan. Look for a clear first deliverable.

  • Lock-in

Be wary if you cannot take your code, accounts or data with you.

  • No plan for mistakes

Any AI system sometimes gets things wrong. Ask how errors are caught, tested and handed to a person.

  • Pushing a large package immediately

A good first project is small and quick to prove.

How do you compare providers fairly?

Give each provider the same short brief and the same ten real customer questions, and compare what comes back: the quality of the answers, how they handle languages, how clearly they explain, the total cost, and how quickly they reply. Then run a small pilot with your favorite before committing to more.

Quick answers

How do I choose an AI company in Lebanon?
Test them with a demo on your own customer questions, check how they handle Arabic, French and English, ask who owns the result, and compare the full costs. Start with one small project.
How much should an AI chatbot cost?
It depends on scope, from ready-made monthly tools to custom projects. Compare what is included, including testing, languages, support and third-party fees, rather than only the headline price.
Should I choose a freelancer, an agency or a ready-made tool?
Ready-made tools suit simple needs, freelancers and small studios suit direct, flexible work, and agencies suit large projects. Whichever you pick, check references and ownership terms.
